One month old already......sheesh where does time go?? Parker is a growing boy and no longer fits into any of his preemie clothes. He has gone up in the world and is now wearing Newborn clothes and some 0-3 month ones. Lately he has been trying to coo and smile....so we are expecting it any day now. Parker is very attentive and loves to look at things and people, just soaking it all in. What a happy boy he is :)
We got a bunch of snow here on Sunday..... I wasn't that thrilled about it but Rayden sure was :) The first picture is right after the snow first started. We ended up getting about 4-5 inches at my house. We went over to my parents house and Rayden had a good ole time playing out in the snow with Papa. They made a huge snowman and threw snowballs at each other. Rayden didn't get cold until she started eating the snow but I still had to bribe her with hot chocolate in order to get her to come inside.
Rayden is still in love with holding and hugging her little brother. She just can't seem to get enough of him and will hold him, hug him and kiss him whenever she gets the chance. This boy is definitely not starving for attention when his big sister is around!
Parker got this playmat for Christmas from Grandma and Papa. Parker loves to look at all of the bright things on it and Rayden also enjoys laying on it and looking at everything. Sometimes they even lay on it together and play!
A few nights ago the power was out for quite a few hours. We lit candles all over the living room and Rayden was walking around with Jeff's head lamp around her neck. Jeff put it on the red light so she would not blind herself when she kept looking into it. She thought it was pretty cool. The power finally came back on about midnight and we were happy to have heat again :)
Parker turned 3 weeks old on Friday and had his 3 week well baby check on Monday. He now weighs in at 6 lbs. 11 oz. and has grown a couple inches to 19 1/4. He is still a great sleeper and still pretty mellow. He has learned that he knows how to cry really loud when he is hungry though :)
Just a few pictures of Rayden's and Parker's hands and feet next to each other. Her hands and feet looked so tiny to me before he was born....now they look so big compared to his!
Papa Chuck and Grandma Bonnie finally made it over from snowy Klamath to visit with us and to see Parker! Rayden was so excited to have visitors since she had the flu really really bad all week long and she was just feeling better. She helped Grandma change Parker and colored with her in her giant coloring book from Ampa Larry and Grandma Becky, and she enjoyed sitting with Papa Chuck while he held Parker.
This past weekend Grandma Becky and Ampa Larry (as Rayden likes to call him now) came to visit all of us! We all had a nice visit over dinner and then Rayden enjoyed coloring with Grandma and Ampa. Parker enjoyed his first visit with them when he wasn't asleep and until he got hungry and had to go eat. They came to visit at a good time because Daddy came down with the flu that day and then Rayden came down with it just two days later. Hopefully they can visit again soon!
Rayden and Daddy had a great time together playing last week. They played horsey all over the house and then later played doctor....one of Rayden's favorite things to do now. Rayden thought it was pretty great to get alone time with Daddy.
Parker had his first bath at home tonight and it started out okay but soon turned bad. This is the loudest and most I have ever heard him cry....poor little thing did not like his bath. He was his happy and mellow self after he was in his jammies.
Hard to believe that our little peanut is already a little over a week old! The first week flew by fast and being parents to two children hasn't been too much different. Parker is such a great, mellow little guy. He rarely cries and sleeps around 3-4 hours at a time during the day, and already sleeps 6-7 hours at a time at night. He did lose some weight at first and went down to 5 lbs. 2 oz. but now is back to gaining weight and is at 5 lbs. 9 oz. We are so lucky to have him in our lives and what a wonderful addition he is to our family!
Rayden oh so so loves her new little brother!!! She is finally over her cold and is so happy to be holding him and kissing him, and hugging him! She just can't seem to get enough. What a great big helper she is too, she brings us diapers and helps Daddy feed Parker a bottle when Mommy is getting a little break from nursing! What a great big sister she is!!!!!!!
